Connecting Your Wallet
Learn how to connect popular EVM wallets to Paylane for Base chain payments.
Supported Wallets
Paylane supports all major EVM wallets including:
- MetaMask – Most popular EVM wallet
- Rabby – Advanced wallet with multi-chain support
- Rainbow – Beautiful Ethereum wallet
- Coinbase Wallet – Web3 wallet and exchange
- Ledger – Hardware wallet support
- Trust Wallet – Multi-chain wallet
Connecting MetaMask (Most Common)
- Install MetaMask – Download from metamask.io
- Create or Import Wallet – Set up your seed phrase securely
- Add Base Network – Add Base chain (Chainid: 8453) to MetaMask
- Click Paylane Icon – Open the Paylane extension popup
- Select "Connect Wallet" – Choose "MetaMask" from the list
- Approve Connection – MetaMask will ask for permission (safe)
- Done! – Your wallet is now connected to Paylane
Creating a New Wallet
If you don't have an EVM wallet yet:
- Visit metamask.io or your wallet of choice
- Click "Create New Wallet"
- Save your seed phrase somewhere safe (write it down or use a password manager)
- Set a strong password
- Add Base network to your wallet (RPC: https://mainnet.base.org)
- Fund your wallet with ETH from an exchange
- Connect to Paylane
Troubleshooting
Wallet not appearing in Paylane?
Make sure the wallet extension is installed and you've refreshed the page. Try logging out and back into your wallet.
Connection rejected?
Double-check that you clicked "Approve" in your wallet popup. You might need to unlock your wallet first.
Wrong network?
Make sure you're on Base network (Chainid: 8453) in MetaMask. Switch networks from the wallet dropdown.
Want to switch wallets?
Click the Paylane icon and select "Disconnect". Then follow the connection steps for your new wallet.
